Laurie has been a faculty adviser to SUNYMEU since 1992. She directed EuroSim (SUNYMEC under a new name) from 2000-2005, including hosting this MEU at SUNY Fredonia, where she was the first woman to earn tenure in that department and was on faculty until 2006 when she accepted SUNY Buffalo State's offer to chair their political science department. Under her leadership as the first woman to chair SUNY Buffalo State University's political science department, the department developed a BA in International Relations and an MPA (including a track in international public management). She is a co-founder of the IEUSS and currently serves as IEUSS director. She has been PI on several successful grant applications to the European Union totaling approximately $340,000 to support the Model EU, student and faculty exchanges, and curriculum development. She wrote the first edition of the OER IEUSS SUNY Guide to the Model European Union and has continued to co-edit the manual through subsequent editions. She has published extensively on European Union integration, migration policy, and transatlantic relations, including Policies and Policy Processes of the European Union (2nd edition, 2021, co-author Neill Nugent, Bloomsbury Press). Her co-authored Remembering Italian America: Memory, Migration, Identity (Routledge) received the Italian American Studies Association 2022 best book award. Greg is a co-founder of the IEUSS and currently serves as IEUSS Board Chair. Greg has been a faculty adviser to SUNYMEC, EuroSim, and SUNYMEU since its founding in 1988. Greg was the 2019-2020 Richard P. Nathan Public Policy Fellow for the SUNY Rockefeller Institute for Governance where he was also the Executive Director of the New York State Municipal Clerks Institute in 2018. Greg was also president of the City Council in Jamestown, NY and councilperson-at-large. Among his many grants and fellowships include an International Studies Research Lab Grant from the University of Illinois and a 2021-2022 European Union Study Tour grant from the University of Pittsburgh European Union Center. An emeritus professor at SUNY Jamestown Community College (JCC), Greg was a tenured faculty member, reaching the rank of professor, retiring in 2022 after over 30 years with the college. Greg teaches City and County Management in SUNY Buffalo State's MPA program and is lead instructor of the European Union Study Tour. Greg is Field Services Coordinator at Preservation Buffalo Niagara. Greg is a Fulbright Scholar (the Netherlands) and is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
